I have rather lacked the motivation to say anything lately. No, that's not it...
Mostly due to me trying to complete chapter two of broken lands, sort out my life, teach myself lightwave only to learn that some people at DC comics have been using google sketchup and a ruby script to do their backgrounds, and transition to an all digital work-flow.
The briggs piece I posted same date as this journal was penciled and inked entirely in manga Studio. I can't wait for the english version of Illust studio. Looks like all the good coloring programs in one.
I have a (Legal) Japanese beta release and a translation patch, but have been too lazy to make my non work computer dual boot and try it. I would love to get a hold of someone in japan and buy it, as English users can no longer get on to the illust studio website.
I have discovered the secret to coloring in manga studio. There is no setting for multiply in the layers like in photoshop. Nope. But there are tools that use the multiply function. fun to be able to work with both multiply and non multiply tools on the same layer. probably can do it in photoshop, but i don't know it.
By the way, after tinkering with the tools a bit and practicing, I got the slickest inks of my rotten life out of manga studio. I have inked equally well on 500 bristol and with good ink and maru nibs. The problem has always been my scans crapping up the work. Never again. I want a Cintiq so damn bad. Need a job first. Crap. Need a faster computer too. Double crap. anyone want to give me 3000 dollars (american dollars, smartasses) no questions asked? Thought not. It's mead brewing season soon. Oh yes.
